This is a program guide for Museum of Gold*— a collection of cheap golden objects. The museum elevates these mundane objects to the care and attention of real gold. The inexpensive manufacturing of plastic gold as an imitation of the precious metal has led to a symbolic representation that allows for what was once reserved to only a few to be cherished by many. By pairing the gold objects with historic, religious, and culturally significant material associated with the metal, Museum of Gold* provides a context that allows for introspection of this metal’s role in our society. The typeface is digital but it attempts to give an old, worn feel. In this way it acts similarly to the gold objects, visually appearing as something that it isn't.
